Oh! The Broken Mutual Trust
At the well decorated school gate
We the teachers stood in our Sunday best
Welcoming every glittering fresh learners
With the accompanying young gentle earners
I saw a proud smile at the entrance
With a lot of hopes(?) on her face
Holding her three year old's little hand
Keeping tight the little girl’s hair band
Smiling so nicely
I spoke so gravely
“Leave the child here boldly
We take care of her fondly”

Now she's turned her fifteen
Past the threshold of her ‘teen’.
From the three year old's innocence
Now she's grown into a teen’s nonsense
And I, holding my trust in Him in my mind,
Held her tight searching for a band,
Showing my raised eye-brows
Solved her growing little rows!

I smiled in vain
And the mother smiled in pain
Held our hands together so tight
Knowing well the broken mutual trust.
